Trading rules

Plain-language rules for the mineral trading board. They are part of the draft trading terms; read the full terms before you post.

Introductions only

OreBridge introduces producers and buyers of physical minerals. We are never a party to a sale: we hold no goods or funds, and we do not guarantee quality, quantity, price, permits or payment. Every sale is concluded between you.

Post honestly

Sell offers must be genuine and posted by, or with the authority of, the holder of the material. Buy requests must be genuine enquiries. Prices and quantities you publish should be current; mark assumptions clearly.

Document your material

Expect any serious buyer to ask for the documents below before terms are discussed. Uploading them, or answering questions about them, shortens every negotiation.

Permits and licences are your responsibility

The parties are responsible for export and import permits and licences. Confirm export permit requirements with the Ministry of Mines and Energy and a licensed customs broker before you commit to terms.

Rough diamonds

Rough diamonds must meet Kimberley Process requirements and be traded with the mandatory certificates.

Sanctions, AML and KYC

Sanctions, anti-money-laundering and know-your-client checks are the responsibility of the parties, not OreBridge. Use independent surveyor inspection and secure payment methods such as letters of credit or escrow.

Documents serious buyers will ask for

  • Assay certificate
  • Independent inspection/sampling report
  • Certificate of origin
  • Export permit
  • Chain-of-custody
  • Mine licence evidence
  • Kimberley Process certificate (rough diamonds)

Uranium and other radioactive or strategic materials are tightly controlled and need regulator approval before any offer is made.
